Children’s Grief Center  Peer Support Grief Group volunteers: Are you a good listener? Volunteers are needed for peer support grief groups. As a volunteer, you’ll receive all the  training needed to support this program. Grief groups will meet 2 nights per month per school year in Saginaw, Midland & Bay City. Chippewa Nature Center

Volunteers are an integral part of CNC! We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals or groups to share their time and talents throughout the year.

Coats for Kids

Distribution: Need volunteers for: check in table (1 volunteer), walk families around to pick out coats (2-3 volunteers), check out table (1-2 volunteers), 1 runner if needed to keep coats stocked up.

Clean up: Volunteers to help pack up coats and take totes back to church building basement.

Covenant Healthcare Volunteer Program

Students will have an opportunity to experience a medical center atmosphere and interact with nurses, physicians and technologists throughout the organization. Students will be able to volunteer as a Patient Ambassador as well as serve in opportunities with pharmacy, physical medicine & rehabilitation, and emergency care. We also have non-clinical volunteer areas available such as patient discharges, mail delivery, clerical support, and the gift shop. This program would be an opportunity to meet requirements for volunteer service for high school and college and we offer this program every summer. Students will have an opportunity to experience a medical center atmosphere and interact with nurses, physicians and technologists throughout the organization. Egg My Yard for Underground Railroad

Filling and hiding Easter eggs around the Easter holiday to raise funds for the Underground Railroad.  Donations also accepted. Seasonal around Eastertime  link for individuals and groups to sign up to donate or help: eggmyyard.org.
First Hospice Care

Senior citizen companions are needed. There are senior citizens who would like a companion. Some just need a listening ear, a friend to do puzzles with, a shopping helper, etc.

Run the Runway Race

The Children’s Grief Center is holding an event at MBS International Airport on May 20, 2023.

This will be a full day of excitement with a 5K race on MBS Runway, color races for kids, food trucks, kid’s crafts, games and more!  

We will also have a vendor/resource tent to showcase the amazing organizations and groups within our community.

Salvation Army Angel Tree Needs

Angel Tree Signups (late October-Early November):  Set at a table and help families fill out application including names, ages, sizes, etc. of children. Fill out Angel Tree tag per child with pertinent information. Could use 4-6 volunteers per day or shift. 

Fill bags (early/mid December):Will need as many volunteers as possible to work in youth building to fill bags for families to pick up.

Angel Tree distribution (mid December): Will need 1-2 volunteers per shift/day to help run bags to cars as they come to pick items up.
