The first day of school was a success! Mrs. Charity was checking out books to 4th graders before 9:30 a.m. And recess is even more fun on the first day of school as students reconnect with old friends and meet new lunch staff. There were lots of smiles as the Eagles left the nest. See you all tomorrow for day two!

We've started learning together at Arrowwood! Happy First Day!

'Twas the night before school, and all through the town, Not a student was sleeping, or even calmed down. The third, fourth, and fifth graders tossed in their beds, While visions of recess danced round in their heads. The sun finally rose on sweet Arrowwood's grounds, And soon the whole building was filled up with sounds. Now Third grade! Now Fourth grade! And Fifth grade, let's go! There’s reading, and writing, and so much to know! The doors opened wide as the morning bell rang, And into the hallways the eager kids sprang. I heard teachers call out to them with delight, "Happy first day to all, let's start the year right!" Don't forget the Night Before School Read on Facebook Live at 7 PM with Ms DHaene!

Tonight, our hallways, classrooms, and parking lots were bustling with activity. The Eagles flew to the nest and were full of smiles and excitement for the new year. In addition to seeing classrooms, teachers, and friends, families were able to register for aftercare, talk to Nutrition Services, get information on PTO, sign up to volunteer, and get resources from the CAN Council. After being with you all tonight, we just can't wait for Tuesday! 🦅

Thank you to the SVSU Women's Soccer team for volunteering this morning. They helped to put the finishing touches on the building. We're ready Eagles, are you? #TogetherWeSoar

Last week, Ms. D'Haene and Mrs. Hill took part in SVSU's Gerstacker Fellowship Summer Retreat for an inspiring day of leadership and professional growth. 🌟

Between collaborative book studies and dynamic "Shift and Share" sessions, they spent time exchanging fresh ideas with educators from across the region. Ms. D'Haene presented on the support and learning opportunities happening right here at Arrowwood.

The custodial crew has been working hard to get the nest ready for the Eagles' return. Mr Joe touched up the Little Lending Library this week and new books will be added back.

Congratulations to Mr Rosebush! He is the recipient of a Jolt Credit Union Orange Spot Microgrant. Jonathan Rosebush Arrowwood Elementary School Grade: 4th My daughter started her journey in a private school, but do to a later diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder we knew we were going to have to find another avenue of learning. Previously she had headaches and stomach aches and never wanted to go to school. She said she was tired of feeling like she didn't know anything. We made the decision to switch her to Arrowwood Elementary where they would have the resources to better assist her needs - we moved in 4th grade and she was in Mr. Rosebushes class- he was amazing with her- he had a daily schedule which was perfect - she was given any additional help she needed and after just a few weeks was feeling so comfortable and accomplished- we went from never wanting to go to school to never wanting to miss!!
