The Hemmeter Violin Club absolutely nailed their performance today—WHAT A SHOW! 🎻✨ From the magical “Hedwig’s Theme” to the beautiful “Vivaldi Winter” and the crowd favorite “Let It Go,” their talent blew us away! A huge thank you to Dr. Broadwell and Dr. Seigfried for leading these incredible young musicians. So grateful for their hard work and dedication! #ViolinClub #HemmeterMusic #EveryStudentEveryDay

Huge shoutout to our second graders for rocking their first robotics lesson! They did an amazing job learning the basics of the hub and motor and even coded their boats to move from the dock to the water. Incredible start, young engineers—can’t wait to see where your creativity takes you next! #EveryStudentEveryDay #HornetPride #WeAreHemmeter
Hemmeter is doing an amazing job with our Socktober collection! So far, we’ve collected an incredible 1,667 pairs of socks for The Caring Closet and the White Pine Clothing Pantry. But we’re not stopping here—collections will continue through Halloween! Let’s keep up the momentum and show our support for the community. Great job, Hornets! Keep those donations coming! 🧦💙❤️

4th graders are working on reading INTENSELY and making movies in their minds! Today they put these skills to work while listening to “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle. Here are some of the images our Hornets created!
Mrs. Little's first graders had a blast exploring the 3 states of matter during science time! 🌡️💧 Each group was given a container of bubbles and tasked with investigating how they could show a solid, liquid, and gas using just the bubbles! ✨ It was hands-on learning at its best! #EveryStudentEveryDay #WeAreHemmeter #HornetPride
Fifth graders in Ms. Lewis’ class learned about Tanzania from the Swender family today. Students saw pictures and videos and were taught about village life, geography, and wild life of the area. We love celebrating the different cultures that are represented here at Hemmeter! #EveryStudentEveryDay #WeAreHemmeter

🎻 The Violin Club is off to a wonderful start! We have 26 beginner violinists this year (including those who joined last year), and they are doing an amazing job! The sounds of strings fill the halls as they practice and improve each day. Can’t wait to see how far they’ll go! #EveryStudentEveryDay #HornetPride #WeAreHemmeter
It's a very important day at STCS, as the entire staff is taking safety training as part of ongoing professional development. Cybersecurity, safety protocols and more are on the agenda for the full day.
The Hornets had an awesome time cheering on the Hawks at volleyball this week! 🏐 These girls served up some serious skills and spiked their way to victory! Way to dig deep and dominate the court! 💪 #BumpSetSpike #EveryStudentEveryDay #WeAreHemmeter
At Hemmeter, we are committed to fostering a collaborative and growth-focused environment, not just for our students, but for our teachers as well. This is where Mrs. Graham, our dedicated Instructional Coach, plays a key role. Mrs. Graham supports our educators by offering personalized coaching, resources, and guidance to help them enhance their teaching practices and student engagement.
This month, Mrs. Graham offered professional development with a creative twist—presented inside an apple! Teachers enjoyed apple-themed treats and received a handout focused on the power of feedback, offering them three different ways to explore this topic: reading, listening, or watching. This flexible approach encourages learning in a way that fits every teacher’s style.
Mrs. Little’s class is definitely ready for Homecoming! 🦅 They celebrated by creating some amazing Hawk art to show their STCS spirit! #EveryStudentEveryDay #HornetPride #WeAreHemmeter"
Beautiful weather for a Homecoming parade!
Waiting for the parade!
Shoutout to the amazing Mrs. Kahl! 🎉 The Creativity Room was her creation and continues to be her passion! She’s spent every prep period and evening over the last two weeks updating it, adding newly donated items to help fuel our students' imaginations. Her dedication to fostering creativity in our Hornets is truly inspiring! We’re so lucky to have her! 💡❤️💙 #EveryStudentEveryDay #HornetPride #WeAreHemmeter
Fifth graders read an informational article about a Tik Tok ban then engaged in a Socratic seminar about it. A Socratic seminar is a discussion that is completely student led. Students share ideas and opinions that are supported with evidence from the text. Students sitting outside of the Socratic circle make observations and feedback to those in the middle of the room. They are the guide on the side. It was fun to watch the fifth graders lead this discussion! #HemmeterPride #WeAreHemmeter
Mrs. Field and Mrs. Weber’s 3rd graders visited The River of Time now held at Johnson’s Pumpkin Farm. The reenactors did a fantastic job bringing their time period to life!
On Thursday, Mrs. Diana Deese, our Dow Science Coach, shared about lab safety and we made lab coats by tie-dyeing t-shirts. Mrs. Field’s 3rd graders loved creating their own designs.
