Parent Notification Information

Saginaw Township Community Schools uses the Thrillshare Alert parent/staff notification system. The primary purpose of this system is to alert parents in case of an emergency, but there are also many other uses including:

Unscheduled School Closings

Two-Hour Delays

Scheduled School Closings (Holiday Schedules, PD Days, etc.)

Unexcused Absence Notification

Parent/Teacher Conference Reminder

Picture Day Reminder

Sports Team Messages

Performing Arts Messages

Messages from the Teacher

The system can handle up to 10,000 calls a minute. Allowing for trying additional times after busy signals or invalid phone numbers, district-wide alerts should be completed in well under 30 minutes.

For this system to work, it is important that we have your correct contact information. You can verify your phone numbers and change your email address on-line using Skyward Family Access. Family Access can be found via the Parent Dropdown list at the top of every STCS school page. Once logged in,  click on the "My Account" tab to make changes. Students/Parents, please contact your Building Secretary if you need to change/add a phone number or if you do not have your Family Access ID and password. Please be aware that if we remove your number from the school closing notification list, you will not receive emergency notifications. If you do not have a home phone, your cell phone will be treated as your home phone. If you have your numbers removed, please make sure that your email address is current, every call is accompanied by an email. Please do not remove valid phone numbers from our system. If you do not want a number included in the automated alert system, we can set a flag on the number.

Emergency and non-scheduled school closing calls will be sent to both home and cell phone numbers , most other calls, including scheduled school closing reminders, will go to the home phone only. All calls are accompanied by an email.

If you are not an STCS student, parent, or staff member, but receive STCS notification messages in error, please contact Jim Mitchell at (989) 399-8050 to get removed. This is for non-parents only, calls from parents will be directed to their respective schools.

Set Default Email Client

Setting your default email client varies based on your the operating system of your computer, the browser you are using, and your email client. We've provided a few web searches to help you find instructions on the steps needed to set the "Mail to" application for your computer.

How do I make Gmail my default mail client?

How do I make outlook my default email client?

How do I make Yahoo my default email client?

How do I change my default email client on Windows 10?

You may need to adjust the search question to meet your specific needs.

The STCS IT Department cannot be responsible for supporting home computer configuration for guardians, staff, or students.

Skyward Family Access Support

What is Family Access?

Skyward Family Access is the Student/Parent portal into the Skyward Student Information System used by Saginaw Township Community Schools. Parents can see bus information, verify that information is correct, check attendance, contact teachers, and change contact information.  Students can complete online assignments, see missing assignments, and follow their grades.

Family Access Login

All parents, guardians, and students all have separate Skyward accounts. Please do not share your ID & password. Parents & guardians should contact the building secretary to get your ID & password. Students receive their Skyward ID & password from their teacher or library staff.

Your ID consists of the first characters of your last name, the first 3 characters of your first name, and a 3 digit number starting at 000.
